In the film Obsessed (2009), a deranged white woman (played by Ali Larter) comes on rather quite strongly to a powerful executive (played by Idris Elba) who happens to be a black man. Thereafter, the entire movie becomes a setup for the penultimate cat fight between the white woman and the black man’s wife (played by Beyoncé Knowles). While it is obvious that the film’s ludicrous plot is nothing more than a visualisation of the revenge fantasy of every black woman who has ever lost a lover to a white woman, it does beg the question: Do black men prefer white women? If so, why? I explore this, and a number of other intriguing details in this thought provoking piece on sex and racial politics.
What is wrong with Interracial Union?
In short? Nothing. Why? Because scientifically speaking, there’s no such thing as race. As it pertains to human beings, a person’s race is the equivalent to the colours of horses, cows, dogs, birds, butterflies and ice cream that could possibly exist. Yes, I did say ice cream. Race is nothing more than a particular assortment of DNA that has some level of conspicuous consistency.
Race is literally the result of the fine tuned distillation of the human genotype across the planet over hundreds of millennia in particular geographic locations. The process of natural selection caused a particular set of DNA markers to arise as the most conspicuous permutation in any given migratory group. The human genotype has billions of possible racial manifestations. Therefore, if the planet was much bigger, we’d have more races.
So why do people often have a problem with interracial unions?
Because of culture. Races were formed at about the same time cultures arose. Culture is formed psycho-socially in exactly the same way that races are formed genetically. Culture represents an average of human cognition in any given group. Because of culture, certain rules and practices are accepted as the de facto standard of behaviour in each group.
Now, before European cultures developed the cognitive capacity to go out and intermingle with others, each culture had already developed a set of standards as it pertains to beauty and self perception. Even though the golden ratio of beauty applies ubiquitously, there are some idiosyncrasies within each culture that describe how they perceive themselves. This is critical in understanding why interracial unions cause such consternation.
Race makes up for about 3% of our DNA. However, because it determines over 90% of what we look like, people have developed cultures which dwell on overstating its significance. Thus wherever people appear to show preference for one race or another, it has as much to do with our DNA as it has to do with our cultural definitions.
What causes Interracial Union?
In short? European conquest. It is only natural that when human cognition evolved to the point where we started to travel the world more efficiently, thus appropriating foreign states, races and cultures became intermingled. It’s an inescapable reality.
All that is happening today is that the genetic distillation which created human races 70,000 years ago is now operating in reverse. As we become more of a global village through technology, we are slowly becoming one race once more.
On White Men and Black Women

While this is for the most part no longer the case, white men of ages past have long vilified black men as being soulless, unsalvagable, savages from the dark continent who are supposedly incapable of reason or logic. That was a great part of the propaganda campaigns which drove racism in the American south.
This however didn’t pacify their desire for the supple shapeliness of the African female. Long before black people were given the chance to become educated, white men indulged themselves (in secret, of course) in the dark chocolate of Africa. This however, is not because white men ubiquitously prefer black women. There is a strong psychological contingent to this behaviour.
Black females represent a forbidden fruit untainted by the sexual constraints of white society. Thus it is not uncommon that some white men have sought to pacify their tastes for the exotic by indulging a black woman. The taboo effect enjoyed by few white men is propagated by the larger majority of white males who have their own prejudices.
The psychological release of indulging in a cultural taboo is very much a function of the existence of that taboo in the first place. Thus if there was a more universal acceptance of interracial unions, the taboo effect would practically cease to exist.
There are white men out there however who indulge in black women not because they’re black, but because they’re women and that’s what men are generally attracted to – women. There is a certain sex appeal in black women that is notably different from others. If you’re a man who loves curves, it doesn’t matter what race you are; black women (like this one) will always appeal to you the most – provided you can get over the xenophobia.

Why do so many black women augment their appearance? The whitening of black female icons like Beyoncé Knowles and even the Marvel Comics X-Men character Ororo Munroe (aka “Storm”) is proof positive that there is something else at work here.
While the latter is merely a function of the ultimate male fantasy (a woman with the aesthetics of a Caucasian and the body of a Negro), the former is most probably a manifestation of a desire to achieve that appearance. But why?
There has been a long running Joke that Beyoncé Knowles would never have her look without the fake hair. While that was most probably coined by bitter black women who feel betrayed by those who engage in this practice, there is a whole industry dedicated to this niche. Why though? Isn’t it enough to look black?
In the popular Marvel Comic book series The Fantastic Four, there is a conversation between the Black Panther and Ben Grimm where he tries to advise Grimm on what not to say to his wife so that she is not offended about her uncanny appearance as a white woman, even though she is black. The conversation no doubt alludes to the popular trend where black women augment their appearance with qualities that do not naturally occur in black women. Black women who practice this categorically claim that it is because they just want to “change their appearance“. However, that is debatable at best.

One can’t help but wonder if they’re trying to appeal to white men or black men who have developed a taste for white women. Consequently, that leads to another question: Is that the real reason why black women don these aesthetic modifications like weaves and coloured contacts to make them appear more white? I don’t know for certain.
However, the fact that Black African females almost never do this insinuates that this practice by black females in the west is most probably related to immersion in white dominated societies featuring white dominated media. Either way, I don’t think black females in the west will be honest about this practice, so I won’t even bother to ask.
The cognitive dissonance that produces the needless suspicion of black men with white women probably speaks more to insecurity than to any genuine reason to fear such a thing. If there was any real danger in interracial unions, there would have at least been evidence of genetic incompatibility by now.
Either way it is probably neither here nor there. Everyone is entitled to their quantum of hypocrisy. However, if we are to believe that black men are going for white women to the extent that even black women are trying to look white, one has to seriously consider the penultimate question:
Do Black men prefer White women?
This is a very popular question. There are a number of myths that have been propagated as to why it is perceived that black men prefer white women. A lot of it is red herring, but it is interesting to consider anyway. I present the most well known of these theories and follow up with commentary and actual facts:
Myth:
Black men prefer white women because they’re fairer, prettier, more attractive, etc.
Fact:
There is certainly more genetic variation in Caucasians (e.g. eye colour, hair type & colour, nose shape, etc.). In fact, anthropologists have noted that there are four distinct types of Caucasians. There are notably fewer such variations in other races. The reason for this genetic disparity between Caucasians and other races is irrelevant.
More importantly, this greater number of variations will certainly be more notable to others, irrespective of ethnicity. Science has shown that humans generally prefer genetically averaged mates. A greater number of variations increases that number exponentially. So it’s not just black men for whom there is an appeal.
In fact, where as many black women believe that more and more black men are going for white women, there is a far greater number of white men going for black women. It is just not as publicised as unions between black men and white women – largely because of a sensational bias.
A white man taking a black woman for a wife doesn’t carry the same appeal as a black man taking a white woman in the same capacity. The latter is seen as more of a triumph (however silly) of the black race considering the history of race relations between white and black men. The former however, isn’t considered as such.
The truth is that a lot of highly successful black women face a crisis when it comes to finding a suitable black man as a mate. It is a well documented fact that black women tend to be more xenophobic than black men. They are far more reserved about marrying outside of their race than black men. However, the shortage of good black male stock has forced many black women to relax their ethnic preferences when looking for love.
The reality of the situation though is that most black men prefer conspicuously curvaceous women, of which black women are the clear front runners, seconded only by latino women. White American culture by contrast seems to have a weird obsession with unhealthily thin females. In that context, a thin white woman does not appeal to any black man – irrespective of social engineering.
Then again, there are people who have a natural taste for the exotic. As I had mentioned before, there are actually more white men who have a taste for black women than vice versa (U.S. Census 2005). In fact, white men are many times more likely to marry outside of their race than any other. Thus the contention about black men desiring white women is largely the stuff of either racism or gross insecurity.
Myth:
Black men prefer white women because they’re more docile and less obnoxious.
Fact:
All women carry the genetic traits that make them naturally more dramatic than men. There is no evidence to suggest that black women are more dramatic or obnoxious than white women – stronger nerves maybe, but not necessarily more obnoxious. That last part has more to do with culture than it does ethnicity. Nobody is naturally more ignorant because they are black (although some think that is debatable).
This illusion is nothing more than a function of social constructs which separate the educated rich and the uneducated poor. Then there is the misrepresentation of black people (by black people) in the media. Black culture as defined by black people sells black women as loud, obnoxious distasteful women as is often portrayed by Tyler Perry’s Madea films.
Women from all races behave in more or less the same way in western culture according to social predisposition. White “trailer trash” Betty-Maes are often no less crass than the black “ghetto mom” Laquisha’s. On the other hand, sophisticated, successful black women are often indistinguishable from their educated caucasian counterparts.
In fact, one of the social constructs that many people conveniently ignore is that black women who grow up in white suburban neighbourhoods acquiesce the behavioural patterns of the other kids in their environment as they grow up. These girls are then unfairly accused by their black friends of “acting white” and going after white boys in social situations.
One’s environment goes a long way towards influencing behaviour and preference. You can observe the same pattern among a lot of black men who end up marrying white women. However, many people conveniently ignore this and create their own fallacious presuppositions that white women are somehow out to get them.

Myth:
Black men prefer white women as a status symbol.
Fact:
There are a number of reasons why a black man would marry a white woman, and virtually none of them have anything to do with using her as a glorified hood ornament just because she’s white – no pun intended. I’m pretty sure if most black women had a Michele Obama or Beyoncé Knowles or Rihanna appeal, this idea would vapourise immediately.
Men go after trophy wives. That’s a fact. Whether they are black or white is irrelevant. A trophy wife is usually that über-femme that has distinguished herself in such a way that having her on any man’s arm would make him look like the penultimate alpha male, irrespective of her ethnicity. Men don’t select women exclusively for ethnicity. It’s largely about raw sex appeal. Whichever package presents it best gets the most votes (or penises).
There are many white men who go after unusually well endowed black trophy wives (like David Bowie and Iman). But you never hear about those. There are many black men whose black wives are sex icons (like Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé). But you never hear any contention about those either. How odd is it then that it is the black men notching a hot white girlfriend who get all this negative attention?
A white woman is perceived as being a trophy wife to a black man not because she’s white, but rather because her appearance renders her exotic. It would be no different if he had married an Asian, an Indian or any other female who is conspicuously not black. Thus the quintessential nature of the hypocrisy is exposed as little more than another manifestation of an inferiority complex.
I feel bad for those black men who married for true love only to be made out as a villain or a traitor by his black sister folk just because he’s the only person who showed up at the family reunion with a woman who looked different from all the other women there. White men who married non-white women face a similar kind of nonsense everyday. I guess people are naturally stupid that way.
Myth:
White women go for black men because they have larger penises.
Fact:
Medical doctors will certify that there are probably as many white men with a large penis as there are black men. The average size of the male penis remains relatively the same across ethnic groups, averaging out at 5.9 inches. People believe otherwise because of the sensationalist fantasy of a black man pummeling a helpless white female as is often propagated in pornographic movies.
To be fair however, there is a larger population of black men who appear to have a larger penis. To understand why this is, you have to examine male anatomy. In most men, a part of the penile shaft is hidden inside the body, connected by a ligament to the pelvic bone. This hidden portion is about an additional 2 cm in length. Penis enlargement surgeries simply cut this ligament so that the penis hangs down further.
Now the penis has three main uses: 1. Urination 2. Intercourse and (less known) 3. To act as a heat sink. The penis shrinks during cold weather, and extends during warm climate. However, the penises of African men drop further out of the body because of the heat. This allows the vascular action of warm blood circulating in the penis to dissipate the excess heat in their bodies in the warm African climate.
Scandinavian men by comparison don’t need this extra heat dissipation feature as they live in the colder climatic regions of the planet. But their penises are essentially the same length. It’s just that most of it is withdrawn into the body. This is why penis enlargement surgery rarely has any useful effect on men of African descent. It was largely designed for Caucasian and Asian men.
Now, natural selection in the African continent has given the men with more of their penis external to the body a much greater preference by choice females for reproduction. Over the centuries, the men who had weaker pelvic ligaments (and thus the appearance of a longer penis) reproduced more. Even though their numbers grew, they still do not outnumber African men with a standard length penis.
Most of these men with a longer phallus are of West African descent, and thus constitute the black men of today’s African-Americans and Caribbean nationals. They are specifically black men who have settled in the American South and northern Caribbean territories like the Bahamas, Cuba and Jamaica. The large majority of other black men have an average sized penis.
Pornographic movies have no doubt capitalized on this and popularised the misconception that black men somehow categorically have larger penises. This is simply not true. If there was some genetic consistency with black men for having larger penises, that would imply that black women have correspondingly deeper (or stretchier?) vaginas. However, they don’t.
In fact, most women (black or white) will tell you that a man with an unusually lengthy penis is more frightening than one with a standard sized shaft. Many men try to insert the entire phallus into a woman, even though the vagina is barely 4 inches deep. This means that the extra length will most often infringe upon the cervix, causing great pain and discomfort.
So size does matter to a woman – particularly if she doesn’t want to become permanently injured. So what about the massive black penises that are often seen in porn movies?
The monster phallus of black actors seen in porn are augmented – just like the breasts of almost every white woman that co-stars. While porn rarely uses special effects, the actors are nothing more than plastic surgery sculptures – animated effigies of the ultimate male and female fantasy couple. However, 5.9 inches is more than enough penis to please any woman – whether she is black or white. Thus this myth is utter rubbish.
At this point, I would say that one shouldn’t believe everything seen on TV. So do yourselves a favour: Kill your television. It will free you of 9/10ths of the rubbish that is commonly propagated in western civilization. It will also save yourself some useful brain matter in the process for more important tasks.

So do black men really prefer white women? Absolutely not. There is no evidence to suggest this to be even remotely true. In actuality, the question is irrelevant as love warrants no justification. Even if there are black men out there who prefer fairer characteristics, the large majority of black men still prefer black women. The concept of black men preferring white women is largely the product of sensationalist propaganda and stereotypical misrepresentation.
Additionally, most people are naturally xenophobic. Therefore interracial unions are not very commonplace – even though it occurs with greater regularity in the Caribbean and the UK. This means that black men who are open to white women are still in the stark minority – even though this is probably no consolation to the black women out there who have lost their black male lovers to a white woman.
The people who are xenophobic like the racist aryan neo-nazis and the hypocritical insecure black folk who terrorize people who dare to love outside of the box have their own inexplicable preferences as well. Their hypocrisy is thus unforgivable. While everyone is entitled to their preferences, true love has no colour, culture, religion, race, class, creed or social demarcation.
We’ve come a long way since the dark ignorant days of Miscegenation. So for all the interracial antagonists out there, know this: Love is free. It always has been and always will be and there’s absolutely nothing you can do to stop it.

Black men are obsessed with having white women. I doubt that it has anything to do with the legacy of colonialism or racism. I would hesitate to say that it is because of the perception that black women are normally not very attractive, however, most white men have no desire to be with one.

Many White males are attracted to Latina and Asian women, this is a well known fact, however the percentage of White males attracted to Black women, at least those without any Caucasian blood, is insignificant.
Just stating the facts. Take them as you will.

Thanks for sharing your views. I have a few points to comment on:
That is statistically unsupported. According to the numbers put up by the US Census Bureau for 2008 for interracial couples (examine rows 50, 60 & 66), approximately 89% of all black men married a black woman. That’s a massive majority. This is why I said in my post that such declarations (that black men prefer white women) is nothing more than racial propaganda to justify racism. It’s more of a misrepresented stereotype than anything else. Most people are xenophobic – especially black people. On the other hand, while I won’t deny that there are black men who prefer white women, such black men who actually marry white women are in the stark minority (0.06 %).
And that is precisely true for all the same reasons most black men don’t prefer white women.
So you’re saying that in a country where white women outnumber the black female slaves by several hundreds of thousands to one, that the white slave masters had sex with black female slaves because they didn’t desire the taste of a black woman? Now that, my friend, is absurd. LOL!
I actually agree with you – as far as the USA is concerned anyway. The numbers don’t lie. White men do appear to have a strong preference for white women in the US, which is only natural given the massive white majority. However, the insignificance of the percentage of white men who actually successfully cross over to the dark side (no pun intended) has more to do with racial politics than taste. White men are much more successful with marrying black women in Europe and the rest of the world than they are in America. The numbers are substantially higher (I’ll see if I can get them for you).
Curiously enough, a German friend of mine (100% white) is getting married to his black wife later today. This is purely anecdotal to this discussion – I only found out yesterday. That’s taking place in Miami. Similarly, most of the white men I know in the UK have either dated or are married to black women. Needless to say, I don’t know most of the white men in the UK, so those men to whom I refer are still in the stark minority.
In Caribbean countries like Jamaica and Trinidad however, a much larger number of white men openly marry black women. It’s an extremely common place practice that happens every day. This is why I wouldn’t go as far as to say that their numbers are insignificant from a holistic point of view. The racial politics in America is still significantly more tense than it is in the UK, some European states, and in the Caribbean. If White men were not under as much social pressure from the white majority (plus the reverse racism from black women), you’d have a much more significant number there.

Rushton in Race, Evolution and Behavior states that research shows that the average white man’s erect penis is from 5.5 to 6 inches and the average black man’s erect penis is from 6.25 to 8 inches; but he further breaks that down by length by percent. For example he says 5% of US blacks have a penis of greater then 200 mm (8 inches) and that 2% of US whites have a penis greater then 8 inches. For the range of 176-200+ mm ( 6.9 to 7.9 inches and above) 17% percent of white men are in this range. For black men the total is 25% that have a penis longer then 6.9 inches. So is a lady is looking for a well hung dude she has a somewhat better chance in finding it in a black man.
Now take out a ruler and look at 8 inches; that is big.
Oh, I can’t answer any questions about how Rushton did this work but you can read the book. His finding seem to go along in general with various reports that a black men are best hung. I think that there are other creators that utilize the heat sink concept. I have also read some where that a long penis can serve as a “back pump” and remove another males sperm from the female. In a highly competitive sexual culture this could make sense and give the male with the long penis a reproductive advantage.

J.P. Rushton’s book was certainly an eye opener, but it’s data is outdated by some 14 years as at this writing. A more recent study by the World Health Organisation in 2005 suggests that the summation of averages in the length of penis remains relatively the same across the board. I do not deny that you will find some astoundingly massive penises among black men. However, the number of such men do not outnumber the number of black men with an averaged sized penis.
So let me be clear:
It is probably more likely that you will find black men in the US with a longer penis. However, as I said in the post, these black men are descendants of West African slaves – a small minority of the more massive population of Africa. If the English had instead taken their slaves from East or even North Africa, we would see a significantly smaller statistical distribution of black men with a large phallus.
The correlational evidence is very deceiving. The average black man does not have a longer penis than the average white man. There is only a specific set of black men who carry that genetic trait – and they just happen to be the ones who were brought to America as slaves. The other black men still outnumber these snake guys by a ratio of several hundred to one.
You made me laugh.
Anyway, there aren’t enough black people in the world to breed out white folks. Furthermore, even if there were, their strong sense of xenophobia will keep them largely uninterested in white women for a long, long time. So by my reckoning, white people will be around for a good while yet.

There is likely to be (or have been) some clan or tribe in Africa where 8 inches is the average. But only some of them ever came here.
As you know we are talking about distribution. But if we had a large pool of randomly selected white men and the same of black men and we had a team of young ladies that would measure their erect penises and only let in those that had an erection greater then 7 1/2 inches by the time we reached 100 admitted men we would, I think have something like maybe 62 or so black men in the room.
I think there is a bit of reverse political correctness on this topic.
I’m not saying you since I think you and I agree. But, I think it is sometimes felt by many white people today to be a kind of racist thing to say that to a certain degree black men have larger penis. (many qualifications) But there are all sort of things like that. Jews have more very high IQ’s then other people. Just a fact

Possibly, but I doubt it very much. There are two factors that are very likely to have given you this opinion:
1. Popularity by Culture: This is a phenomenon whereby a precedent that exists in a culture becomes so popular that it effectively becomes a ubiquitous part of that culture, even if the probability of its occurrence is rare. This is what many people (inaccurately) call a stereotype. Here are a few examples:
Myth: Asians are thought to be more mathematically inclined than any other race.
Fact: It’s only the math geniuses among their population that are exposed to opportunities to take advantage of their gifts. Furthermore, Asians are the most populous of all races. Thus there is a higher probability of the recurrence of natural genius just by their vast numbers. However, math genius is not significantly less recurrent among whites in terms of percentage. In fact, comparing percentages, the two races measure up to be relatively the same, with Asians barely edging out whites just because of population.
Myth: Black people are thought to be better at sports than any other race.
Fact: The sports that black people perform best at are largely the ones that are also the most popular in America (i.e. Baseball, Track, Basketball & Football). This means they are also the ones black folks are most socialized to participate in. By comparison, neither swimming nor gymnastics (among many others) attract as many black athletes as they are not socialized as heavily into those sports – even though they are no less physically demanding. In fact, you’ll be hard pressed to find black athletes in sports outside of the top 4. We only think black people are better at sports because the top 4 are more popular on TV than all of the others combined.
…I could go on, but I think you see my point. Secondly:
2. The Skewed Volunteer Phenomenon If we were to setup a volunteer based experiment to call in all the men out there to measure the length of their penis, it is very likely that any black man who shows up, is likely to be one with a long penis. Why? Quite simply Because of a psychological precedent called “Ego”. The black men with the longest, most monstrous penises are many times more likely to show up than the ones with an average sized penis – which will ultimately skew our findings.
We wouldn’t even be able to bring the small penis black men out of the wood work if we promised them virgin white 18 year olds – much to the chagrin of their KKK fathers. Xenophobia would defeat that incentive.
To avoid both types of scenarios from skewing our findings, one needs to do a “Stratified Survey“, one done proportionate to population numbers – which is something that J.P. Rushton failed to do for his book. While the contents of his work are certainly thought provoking, there were too many examples of volunteer based (or other disproportionately sampled) surveying.
This is why the World Health Organisation pulled its data from the files of medical doctors all over the world, thus eliminating the bias and the skew that would have been presented from other research methods. This means that the data from even men with small penises would also be captured.
Well, you need not worry. I have no personal interest in being politically correct for or against anyone of any race. I’m only interested in the facts. Whether or not it suits my race is completely irrelevant to the discussion – although some of my fellow kinsmen may disagree. I’d like to believe that hot button topics like this can be discussed by mature folks (like you and I for example) without any of the fluff or bias that tends to get in the way of the truth. If you are referring to Caucasian Jews, then that’s just a correlation. Jews are an ethnicity, not a race. Caucasians however, are a race, not an ethnicity. If you find that Jews are pretty smart, it’s not because they’re Jewish. It’s likely to be because they’re white. There’s nothing genetic about being Jewish.
However, white people generally have a higher IQ than other races – which is why most other cultures to a great extent have adopted their languages, their governance, their economies, their philosophies, their culture… well you get the picture.
However, there is a corollary: The quantum that is used to measure IQ was also invented by white people. Therefore it should not be surprising that white people ace this grade of measurement. Perhaps there is another we have yet to think of that would measure another area of intelligence they are not good at.
You are absolutely correct. There’s no denying that one. This is why people should Kill their television. That article by my friend Alamanach demonstrates just how a lot of this misrepresented garbage became a popular meme in the first place. Television is the number one source of misinformation. It’s the most efficient means of selling nonsense to the clueless herds of the gullible idiocracy that perpetuates the couch potato nation.

Well, interesting conversation. I’m interested in learning more about the “heat sink” concept in terms of the human body. I use to work around engineers and they were always “heat sinking” various engines.
As far the group of 100 men what I had in mind was not a stratified survey by any means. But what I perhaps didn’t make clear was that they would have no idea why they were being called. For example, say the Selective Service called a large number of men in for selection; that is all they know. They screen by alternating races; one black man, one white man. Every time they found a man with a penis over 7.5 inches he was entered into the group. I still would still think that by the time the 100 men were selected about 60 (more or less) would be black men. Would you agree? ( Could this be a plot for an genetic attack on North Korea?)
It is a different way of manipulation numbers but it does give you a certain perspective on a population.

I think You are right about only ONE thing. That Black women don’t want white men. lol.
You forgot that AFRICAN MEN are the least likely immigrant group to date outside the race (I love my African men) but that African women are more likely to date non black men, its AFRICAN AMERICAN men who seem to yearn for other races (and not as high in numbers as people make it seem) and I think that can be easily seen why. I DO think status is one, many black guys still seem to hate white men, and I have heard from a few personally that they like taking “their women” so no one can really say that is not one of the (many) reasons.
I am a black girl from Newport Beach California, I was born and raised in the OC and I KNOW for a FACT that there are many white women that want black men. My friends always talk about how sexy or hot they think black guys are, but that they could never date one. I was wondering why you mentioned the movie Obsessed where the WHITE WOMAN is obsessed with the black man and then you ask if black men are obsessed with white women?? Did you not notice that at all? Not to say that some black guys don’t prefer white women, because thats obvious, but why doesn’t anyone ever mention ALL the white men in this world who are married to Asian women?? Those numbers are MUCH MUCH higher, so do white men collectively prefer Asian women over white women?? I see this on t.v all the time where white guys talk about having “yellow fever,” so are white women ugly or do they have bad attitudes too compared to Asians? There are some black men who do prefer white women but there are more black men who prefer black women.
Just as there are a lot of white men who prefer Asian women, but most of them prefer white women. I honestly think it is some sort of stroke of the ego for white guys to believe all other men want their women, its a territorial thing too, to believe that the BLACK MEN want the white women and not vice versa. Why would they want to believe that WHITE WOMEN preferred black men? Why would any white guy want to question that???
It IS in some ways because of the past, I always hear black guys talk about how “back in the day” they would have never been able to touch a white woman, and I think that makes it interesting to a lot of them, whereas black women’s idea of white guy is an oppressive rapist. Lots of black guys also seem ashamed of black women because of images portrayed by the media or by lower income women, BUT You never mentioned that MANY black men feel inadequate with black women. I am in college and I’m starting to realize (sadly) that my pool of black guys to choose from is getting smaller, and not because I don’t want them, but because they don’t want a girl who makes more money or is better educated than them (I’ve had black guys tell me I sounded too much like a white girl and they don’t like that!). As I mentioned earlier though, I don’t want a white guy. Even though I have been approached by a lot (I’m from the OC) I still and have always yearned for a black guy.
I just also wanted to mention that the most physical variations are actually in the African race (not being ethnocentric, its scientifically proven) only 2% of white people are natural blondes, [people seem to forget that white people alter their looks as well as other people in the world] and there are obviously more blue eyed Europeans than any other group, but those are actually very small variations. AFRICAN AMERICANS are from WEST AFRICA, so many of them look like Africans from WEST AFRICA, but there are Africans in South Africa that actually resemble Asians, and many Africans in Somalia or Eritrea and Ethiopia are NOT mixed, they are just Africans with straighter noses, but many have “kinky” hair and larger lips. I wish more people would realize this, but most people (Americans) aren’t exactly worldly or knowledgeable. lol
LASTLY, I would REALLY like to know why SO many black men out there will happily tote a white girl on their arm and get PISSED to see a black girl with anything other than a black man? This is a big thing with black Americans. Black men give me bad looks if I, or any of my friends, is seen anywhere with a hispanic or non black man? SO if black men really prefer white women for average reasons, why do they NOT want black women to date other men of other races for those same reasons??? Yes, I did. But you’ve clearly missed the point of the film. The movie is playing upon a stereotype. These types of movies are never as black and white as they appear (pardon the pun). There’s an underlying play upon sexual politics that is going on here.
It is statistically unlikely that any white woman would behave that way over a married black man (let alone any black man at all). That’s why the movie’s plot was so preposterous. It requires the viewer to seriously leverage their suspension of belief to even begin to remotely enjoy the film.
The only people who would really enjoy a movie like that are black women. It is obvious from the plotting and the finale that this type of film will not appeal to any other demographic. It makes fun of the stereotype that black men prefer white women – which is nothing more than racist propaganda. I find it absolutely fascinating that it’s only black people who don’t see the parallels at work here.

Where I live, black chicks (particularly the educated ones) absolutely LOVE white men – and I don’t blame them one bit. It think it’s a beautiful thing.
Just last Saturday, a German friend of mine married a black Jamaican girl. They are absolutely GORGEOUS together. He couldn’t be anymore white and she couldn’t be any darker in complexion. She has beautiful, smooth black skin. All of my black female colleagues in the UK have married (or are involved with) white men – one of them is Danish! Almost every white male friend of mine in the UK has also married a black woman.
So I don’t think that your issue is common among every black woman. I just think that race relations in America are still pretty unsettled as it stands. There’s absolutely no reason for black women to hate white men. They’re statistically far better for you guys than American black men at any rate. Why do you think your white friends wouldn’t date black men? Think about it.
I’m involved with the Trance/Electronic Dance Industry in Europe, and let me tell you, I haven’t yet met a white male in the 20 – 35 age range who hasn’t expressed a deep sense of appreciation for black women. The complaint is the same all across the board though: All the black women they’ve met (usually Americans) don’t want any white boy. Those who’ve become successful with black women met them either in the UK, in Africa or in the Caribbean.
So I think your issue is largely based on cultural idiosyncrasies.
With that said, let me be abundantly clear: I have nothing against black men (for obvious reasons – lol). I mean, one of them is currently the leader of the free world. So black men are not all bad. Black males are just lacking in positive role models. Too many of them manifest negative stereotypes and obscure the few good black men out there. However, I just don’t think there’s any sense in reviling white men at this stage. It’s largely unjustified. Can’t we all just get along?

As much as I’d love to agree with you, that is scientifically unsupported. Caucasoids (or Caucasians) cover a very wide gamut of the human race. Caucasoids include:
1. Asians
2. Europeans / Americans
3. Northern Indians
4. Middle Easterners (Arabs, Jews, etc.)
The word Caucasian as you understand it has simply come to refer to the sub-species of Caucasoids Hitler once referred to as “Aryans”. However, because of the Holocaust and the events of World War II, the word “Aryan” has now become a loaded word, signifying racism and white supremacy. As such it has been deprecated from official use from the standard English language, except where it is used to designate such things.
While the original meaning of the word Caucasian is a derivative of a particular community called Caucasus in European Georgia, the phenotypical characteristics that describe Caucasians are very consistent across the sub races I mentioned earlier. We only think of these races today as being separate because it is not common knowledge that they are all genetically related. Read more here.
Thus, if you consider all of these genetic permutations in the Caucasian race, you will realise that the race collectively has more permutations of appearance than all other races combined. By comparison, black people only have genetic differences as far as Craniological (skull), Dermatological (skin) and Orthopedic (bone) characteristics are concerned.
With that said, race is scientifically insignificant. Scientists have long stopped using these designations to separate human species. Race only accounts for 3% of our DNA – this means we are 97% alike. Therefore no modern scientific reference is going to continue to use race as a meaningful cultural, sociological or otherwise scientific demarcation to make any genuinely worthwhile statement.
That’s why you should avoid reading any material that would seem to suggest that any one race is any better than another. Those texts have all been proven to be mathematically imprecise in their measurements or were written by people who have cultural agendas. Black and white authors are equally guilty of this type of intellectual dishonesty.
I’m surprised however, at the large number of black authors springing up with this unresearched, unverified, nonsense. I find that many of them are not peer reviewed for objectivity. However, with the majority of respected scientific research councils on the matter being predominantly run by white scientists, this is not to be unexpected.
In terms of percentage (since white women vastly outnumber black women in America) black women are statistically more likely to augment their appearance in this way than white women. This is why there’s a whole industry dedicated to this sort of thing for black women.
White women by comparison are chided if they get too thick around the waist, the hips and buttocks or wear their hair short (or even in corn rows). So there’s not much appeal there for them to have anything significantly like that of a black woman. The closest they can get is a tan and Botox for the lips. However, tans are not permanent and thicker, fuller lips come at a steep price.
Getting a weave or coloured contacts however? Any salon can hook up a sista with that.
I find such things to be rather creepy though: An obviously black woman looking like a white one. I mean, if I wanted a white woman, why would I hook up with an imitation? Think about it.
Well, it makes sense that the average citizen of the most powerful nation on earth would be less likely to know anything about anyone from any other country, until some of them fly a passenger jet into an office building…
I’m sorry, but I’ve had some rather negative experiences with Black American men. I find too many of them to be ignorant. I think it’s a cultural issue though, because even Caribbean nationals who move there as children grow up assimilating this nonsensical, hypocritical attitude.
However, to be fair, the same white men with whom you girls roll with are also expressing this hypocritical behaviour towards those same black men who run around with their white women. So the hypocrisy actually goes both ways. By my guess though, you will find fewer white men with this hypocritical streak than black men.
While I do concur that such black men exist, they are largely trophy hunters. So they won’t factor into any significant statistical data, since they’re not likely to marry these white women anyway.

White men have every right to hold their women up on a pedestal. Black men are doing the same. The way I look at it, we’re all even.

Hey guys, I couldn’t find any information on the heat dissipating feature of the penis that you could access without paying for it. But I did come across the following links:
This discussion on SciForums.com talks about the evolutionary necessity that perpetuates the misconception of African Males and large penises. The thread starter appears to have read the same (or similar) materials I did.
Here’s a write up on Penis Size Andrology which very briefly speaks to the heat dissipation characteristics of warm climate mammalian appendages.
In a book called Gross Anatomy by Kyung Won Chung, the heat dissipation characteristics of the human male phallus is also discussed at some length. The write up here also suggests that men should avoid wearing tight under wear (like briefs) to maximize their reproductive capacity and provides medical evidence (heat retention) for such.
Here as well is an interesting discussion on the matter. The discussion here is largely opinion, but it can be factually verified by the material I linked to earlier. It all speaks to the same thing, that the penis dissipates heat, very much like a heat sink on a microprocessor. Men living in cold climates would have literally caused their entire population to go extinct if their penis hung all out in the cold weather.
There’s plenty more where this came from, but you can spend a few minutes in Google and you’ll come across the same results as well. I strongly recommend however, if you are serious about finding doctor provision evidence on the heat dissipation feature of the penis, that you look up any NHS Urologist reference manual (which is where I got my info from).
Unfortunately, these manuals aren’t readily available on the internet. You have to buy them (or have a med degree, specializing in urology) to get a hold of one. The few available on the net are behind digital library portals where you need a Fellowship membership to get to it. As I have a relative who lectures in medicine at the local university, it wasn’t hard for me to get to one.
This article on Wikipedia which references similar books also speaks to some of the matters of which I spoke previously with respect to misconceptions about penis size.
Here’s another article by a Dr. David Delvin called Facts about Penis Size that also verifies much of what I wrote here. It also demonstrates that there is positively no correlation whatsoever, between race and penis size.

My response: Let me correct you on a few points. Statistics don’t equate to absolutes, meaning stats don’t tell you what’s absolutely going to take place, nor are they 100% accurate, far from it actually. If we are to go by stats, then white men are also more likely to molest children and/or practice some sort of illegal sexually deviant behavior and get divorced. “Numbers” cannot find you a compatible mate, neither can “what they have”, if the young lady isn’t into white men she shouldn’t have to force it for the sake of not wanting to “die alone”. Getting a white man (like they’re the only alternative to choose from or something) when she doesn’t want one is not the way to go, it just isn’t. So here goes, white men being “statistically better for black women” is pure bologna. What you seem to be doing is confusing race with class, when I can pretty much make the assumption that a man of ANY race raised in an upper middle class environment would less likely be incarcerated and the other things you mentioned. Yes, there are more wealthy and well-to-do whites and more poor inner city blacks, but what is best is finding someone from a stable background and family. That can be found in any and all races of men.
And another thing (and this is purely my opinion) but I personally think black men outside of the states and other men of color (asian, hispanic, etc.) are a better pick for black women than white men are. Since black american women are so “xenophobic” it would be the safest thing to keep them within the “minority realm”, so to speak. People of color, whether they’re culturally different or not, seem to have more in common in terms of racial disparity, racial disparity that many whites have yet to grasp, if they even want to be bothered. It would make the most sense for black women to pursue relations with asian men, since they also “statistically” live long, get educated, work hard, raise their children, have cultural standards and actually stay out of trouble with the law MORE often than white men do. Plus blasian children are beautiful lol.

He used to say he was “getting back at the white man” when he was messing around with my aunt-in-law, but after only about a year they got married and then had my cousin. My response; I didn’t know they were stats on how white women act around men they’re attracted to lol. Boy would I like to see where you heard that one from. I definitely can’t say for certain if that’s true or not but neither can you. All I can go by are accounts of white women I know and have chatted with that expressed their desire for black men to me and others. White women being into black men intensely is FAR from a “statistical unlikelihood’ as you claim, though I’m not going to exaggerate and say most white women are aching and yearning to get a chance to be with a black man lol, but some are.
I’m a black woman and I absolutely HATED that movie Obsessed, I think the plot was sloppy and contrived, and Beyonce needs to take some serious crash course acting classes. But I’m just one black woman, I don’t speak for all or even most, just for myself.

My response: I still thinks it’s a pretty bad idea. White men, especially in this country, have very deep rooted complexes as well. They are subject to the same media images as the rest of us, and therefore have undergone brainwashing mental conditioning too. This may be why a large portion of them prefer blondes over brunettes, and thin women over fat ones. They are just as unstable as black men on an emotional level if you ask me. Money doesn’t equal compatibility or worth, and as I said before if you want to get into statistics alone, asian men are more suitable choices than white men, plus there’s not as much competition to get one, which may ease the process.

My response: Black men do not pride their women in the same manner other races of men do. In many forms of media where they have small to moderate control ( i.e. music videos, urban magazines, small television gigs, urban modeling, etc ) they only use certain models. And we know what “certain” means: mixed and light complected black/non-black women. Black men only seem to want to show the world the type of black women that have the most noticeable caucasian features. This actually kinda defeats the purpose of “showing them off”, and gives white racists something to use against us. They can say; ” Blacks know they can only hope to be seen as attractive if they have OUR (white) dna in them”, and by the lack of non-caucasian looking black women placed out there by black men, that statement can’t be challenged. THIS is why the question “Do Black Men Prefer White Women”? is being placed out there, along with other reasons. EVEN with black american men being almost as xenophobic as the women, EVEN with the racial disparity and race politics in this country being less than savory, EVEN with persecution and ridicule, EVEN with the “statistical” possibility that the relationship won’t last, THEY STILL pursue relationships with white/non-black women. It makes you think, if black men would go through all those odds to be with these women, is there a desire there that all of us are greatly underestimating? We can go into why this is, but the fact remains many are willing to take the risk.
I don’t know what to tell Becsters except:
Don’t judge on color. You will probably find a decent man that’s compatible for you, and even if the guy is GREEN, you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity. Stay approachable, stay fit, stay open minded and most of all stay positive. No “Go Get a White Man” rhetoric from me, I personally don’t think that’s the answer, not at all. If you’re find yourself wanting to be in a relationship with a white man that feels the same way toward you, then go for it. But don’t force it, let it happen naturally, if you even want it to happen at all.

It’s not just black women who copy white women’s looks. Many ads feature white, asian, oriental women with curly or even afro hair.
I think its just the nature of women. We always want more. We want something different, something that we/the society see as beautiful or, go with the current trend.
I am an oriental girl who’s used to very positive comments about my exotic curly hair however I do like to imagine sometimes, having straight hair.. I have my hair straightened chemically once. And why not? Why you’re young why not experiment with your look? It’s fun

Pointing out one or two black people in a sport dominated by whites doesn’t prove anything. You have to demonstrate a wide array of sports for which blacks are dominant. Unfortunately, black people are only dominant in the sports they are heavily socialized in. Outside of the big five (Basketball, Baseball, Boxing, Football & Track) black people conspicuously remain a minority.
If black people were really good at sports in general, then why do we rarely see blacks in sports like:
1. Tennis
2. Golf
3. Gymnastics
4. Weight-lifting / Body-building
5. Swimming & other water sports
6. Hockey
7. Equestrian Sports (horse-back riding, etc.)
8. Soccer
9. Wrestling

By your logic, it would appear that black people don’t seem to like sports that require a lot of precision and finesse while showing greater interest in sports that rely more heavily on raw power like the aforementioned big five.

It implicitly gives the impression that Black people prefer sports that require less discipline to be really good at – which alludes to something else entirely (which I won’t bother to get into here).
Therefore, saying that black people are good at sports is very misleading. Therefore, my point still stands:
It would be more accurate to say that black people are dominant in the most popular American sports. That’s as far as the truth goes. However, the concept that black people are categorically better at sports is nothing more than an unvalidated, unqualified, unsubstantiated, heavily biased myth.

Well then sir, against such I have no argument. In fact, I agree with you. However, I disagree with you about sports like Swimming, Golf and Gymnastics requiring a highly funded input. Black people are in these sports – they’re just not very good at them.
The same can be said of Equestrian sports and virtually any other kind of precision based sport. Black people tend to do better at sports which require a great deal of raw exertion of power. In sports where precision is preferred over power, black people are comparatively weaker – or rather, I should say, less dominant.

No, I’m on the other side of the planet. It’s early morning here. I just happen to be online when you responded.
Out of the many golfers out there, there is only one black Golfer. We could easily deduce that Tiger’s genius is a genetic fluke – since there aren’t any other blacks in the sport anywhere near as good as he is (and then there’s the issue of Tiger’s mixed heritage). Out of the many great Tennis players, we only have a pair of black twins. The same can be said there – since they share most of the same DNA.
I’m not saying that black people aren’t in the other sports – there’s just too few of them being any good at those particular sports to make a very convincing argument for categorical black dominance.

A strong preference for an idea doesn’t mean that the rest of the world is obligated to share that opinion. That’s what they call bigotry, in other more educated circles.
People who prefer to think with their heads in the same location as their posteriors tend to have this kind of fundamentally flawed antiquated logic. That such people still exist is what is really funny.

Its not that blacks are not good in the above mentioned sports..its jus that blacks don`t hve the resources 4 those sports…like me,i had never bn exposed to a swimming pool up until college…bt most whites are born with these resources here…bt in sports were both whites and blacks hve the same resources blacks tend 2 be better…most whites are born with the resources in the sports you have listed…while very few blacks have those resources…so of cause one would expect more whites to be succesfull in those sports compared to blacks…

I dont know what fantasy land you live in but really do some research. most bm love,date and when they marry, marry black women. The media just love to make it seem like the opposite. Im surrounded by bm all day every day in a city thats over 80% black and i attend a school within city limits thats majority white and asian and can HONESTLY say for every bm/non bw couple you see, wether it be on campus or off, there are atleast five bm/bw couples. One would think on campus that it would be different but its not. While I would be the first to agree with you (especially in the case of co-related statistics) in this case, contrary to your hope, the statistics quoted earlier are rather quite absolute. There were drawn from the US Census Bureau. These statistics were not drawn from any study that tried to prove any particular issue. They are just raw numbers. So I will have to strongly disagree with you on this one.
That may be true, but a larger, more substantial percentage of black men are likely to end up in prison and all the other stuff I mentioned earlier. White men are also more likely to be serial killers. Psychotic behaviour is almost exclusively white. But statistically, a black man is many times more likely to become a gang banger than a white man is to become a serial killer. I see the point you’re making, but in a country where blacks make up 13% of the general population and 80% of the prison inmate population, you’re doing little more than grasping at straws here, hun.
I concur – but if she isn’t into white men, what’s the point of spilling all those negatives about her dwindling pool of black men? If she’s got such a big problem with the black men who don’t want her, I fail to see the rationale of complaining and not doing something about it.

That propensity is far too ubiquitous among white men to blame on culture. I find that for the most part, white men right around the world have this inclination. There’s probably something deeper at work here.
As I’ve said before, this is no more valid a statement than my arbitrarily suggesting white men. At least I have statistical probability on my side. You’re just stating your opinion – which makes it less valid against something that can be researched.
There are two problems with this:
1. What you just described is more a genetically imbued function in people where beauty is seen as anything symmetrically more pleasing to the eyes. That’s human nature. That has nothing to do with black men and their female preferences. I wrote about this phenomenon here.
2. The people who work in the media are aware of the point I made in #1 above. Therefore, to appeal to a much wider audience, beautiful people are naturally selected for anything on TV. Even the people who become anchors on your local news are carefully selected by producers along these lines. Everybody knows that beautiful people draw a much larger audience – again, this is perfectly natural and has nothing to do with black men or preference.
3. The media represents a very small subset of people. What they do does not reflect on the entire demographic. This misperception is a function of their ubiquity.

WRONG! Ofcourse it can! Bigotry is Bigotry. Read my response to a dude who wrote on here with the same ideas. This notion is HIGHLY unsubstantiated by statistics (see the US Census Link). Most black men categorically prefer black women. They’re just not the ones receiving all the media attention, because it’s not as sensational as “jungle fever”, thus fuelling the fire behind these nonsensical perceptions.
Which is all the more reason why I think it’s so irrational that complaining black women (like Becsters) are still so hung up on black men. Do you realise that if there’s any credence to what you’re saying, that you’re insinuating that nature is surreptitiously breeding black women out of existence? This is simply not true.
The reality is that such concerns are largely moot. There just aren’t enough black men out there going after white women to make this of any real concern to anyone – especially black women. I think the concern black women have about their black men defecting to the white side is born out of a deep, inset inferiority complex. It is such a palpable, yet highly irrational fear, that it is now classified as a bonafide psychological phobia.

I have enjoyed reading this discussion. I wanted to add my response, I hope it’s not too late. I am a black woman married to a black man of 21 years. My husband lived in the suburb until he was 13 years old, being raised by his grandmother. When his grandmother passed away, he moved to the city and was then raised by his anut and uncle. We attended the same highschool, and were in the same English class. He showed me some photos of some of his male and female friends, and seemed to be proud of them. I noticed that all of the photos were of white people. He even showed me a photo of a white girl that he said was his ex-girlfriend. I was polite to him and told him that the photos were very nice. I was puzzled later on because I wondered if he had any black friends or black girlfriends. I then wondered where he lived because we were attending a mostly black school as we both were residing in an urban neighborhood. About several weeks later, he began to stare at me in class, this was very annoying to me because I couldn’t believe he was interested in me anyway because I am black. He kept asking me out and wanted to get to know me. He also asked my best female friend to ask me to get to know him. Then, he went around the school telling his friends that I was his girlfriend. When I found out, I was so mad because I was not attracted to him at all. Then, he would show up to my classes and ask to carry my school books, he walked me to class, he waited with me on the bus stop after school, and even bought me a few snacks for lunch. Well, I decided that he was a nice guy afterall and began to date him. We attended our highschool prom as highschool sweethearts and graduated together. Once year later, he asked me to marry him and start a family. We were very happy. During the first 4 months of our marriage, he persued a career with the Air Force, while there, he was having an affair with a white girl. The second affair, late last year. He gave our daughter his cell phone when he dropped her off at the mall and asked her to call home when she was ready to be picked up. She noticed his cell phone had text messages and nude text photos of 1 white girl age 18, and the other not sure. He claims nothing happened, and that he only met the 18 year old once but never had any contact other than texting. He denies the other white girl that my daughter stated was around our age, saying that he didn’t have photos of anyone else. He said he was sorry profusely and asked me to take him back, that he couldn’t live without me, he wanted marriage counseling and to join a church. He said it all! I forgave him and supported him with getting some help. He told me that his actions were because he was being childish, immature and selfish. He told me that our sex is great, that I am beautiful and sexy and that I was not the reason that he was being unfaithful, nor was it our kids, and that I should not think it was my fault. He also told me that the 18 year old girl was attractive (Eye-Candy), and that he couldn’t cheat on me anyway. However, I already know because of his demanding work schedule and since I work from home, he was hoping for the opportunity while being very patient. Once I confronted him about the text photos and messages, he remained very calm and told me not to worry and that he would take care of the situation. He later texed our son and told him that he couldn’t believe that our daughter told me what was going on. This certainly makes me aware that he was not sorry about the affair but that he got caught. Well, I have had about enough of this. Before I throw in the towel for good, do you think he is capable of being committed to me a black women?

I think black men tend to prefer light-skinned women, period. I know you mention that the majority of black men marry black women, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the majority of black men prefer black women. Remember, marriage is not just a matter of choice, it’s a matter of who chooses YOU as well. 200 years ago virtually every black married a black even if he or she didn’t want to because they simply had no choice. Either it was illegal to marry a white, or there was a dearth of white partners would be willing to overcome the taboo of marrying a black. While anti-miscegenation laws may be a historical relic, the taboo still exist to varying degrees, even if not as strong as it used to be. 85% of black men marry black women, I’m sure both because many black men do find black women they love and want to marry, but also because there simply may not be enough women from other races willing to marry interracially(at least involving a black man anyhow).
What you need to look at are black men who have choice. Most black men don’t have the choice of marrying ANY woman they want with equally because of taboos regarding interracial marriage. However, black men with lots of money and social status do. And look at how many black actors, musicians and celebrities are dating or married to women who aren’t black. And when most famous black men do marry a black woman, it is almost always a black woman lighter then themselves. I’m not aware of any black man of fame or wealth that is married to a black woman darker than himself, or one with very African features. The only exception is Barack Obama. I can think of no other. In fact, if I meet a black man of wealth and status I am usually surprised to find out if he is NOT dating a white woman or Latin-American woman.
So when I look at the black men who have as much racial choice as white men have, it’s undeniable that black men prefer lighter skinned women and tend to not want women with more African features. We can debate over what the cause of that is or whether it’s even something important to begin with, but I don’t think we can deny that there is an anti-black(or perhaps I should say anti-dark) preference in mate selection amongst black males in particular.

I am a black man married to a lovely white woman and never was at any time in my life “obsessed” with white women, it just so happen that i met a lovely girl who just so happened to be white, we fell in love and got married, now have two amazing kids, the story is that simple.
I think the idea that most black men are obsessed or prefer white women is simply just not true, i have 5 brothers who are not closed to dating outside their races but all happy to be with black women, infact they stress they find black women more attractive, the percentage of my black male friends who will date only white women is insignificant that its not even worth mentioning, more surprising, where i live in the UK, i see more and more white men with black women than the reverse.
This notion is rubbish, it is born out of ignorance and racism.

1. Miscegenation aside, most people are naturally Xenophobic. Racism is an extreme form of Xenophobia.
2. Xenophobia means people will be naturally inclined to their own kind.
3. Xenophobia affects roughly 85% of any given population.
4. In Caribbean & some European nations where there is not much of an interracial stigma, 85% of blacks still marry blacks.

No, I didn’t say I can’t think of famous all black couples, what I said is that seeing a black man of fame or wealth marry a black woman darker them himself is extremely rare. What I’d said is that black men have a preference for lighter-skin women, which includes light skinned black women(preference for light skinned women is nothing unique to black men, it’s the same case with Latino men, Phillipino men, Indian men, Arab men, and virtually all SE Asian men. Some will end up with women of about their same shade. But black men with a high degree of choice in mate selection such as those that are wealthy or famous don’t often marry black women with strong African phenotype.
I’m aware that most blacks marry blacks, I wasn’t arguing against that and nothing I said contradicted it. Probably the greatest indicator of who you will marry is proximity and who is in your social network. Blacks who live amongst whites and have a high number of whites in their social network will probably marry white since proximity of a mate and social network are probably the 2 strongest factors in who you meet. But blacks tend to have mostly black friends and live in the proximity of other blacks, so it’s no surprise that most will marry black based on that alone. When it comes to interracial marriage taboos, blacks(at least American blacks which are the only ones I can speak for) are the least opposed to interracial marriage compared to whites, latinos and Asians.

Well, against such I have no argument.
An inclination towards fairer members of the feminine gender is a natural function in men generally. Even white men seem to have stronger preference for blondes over brunettes, and red heads over brownies. So what you describe is not a function that is unique to black men at all (which means the whole point of raising it in the first place was moot).
What little research I’ve read into this propensity seems to suggest that the male brain naturally creates a direct association between femininity and fairness, with greater femininity being more desirable among women. The obvious implications of this are that fairer women will be more preferred than less fair ones.
With that said, I would be remiss if I omitted the fact that beauty has no ethnicity – and concordantly, neither does fairness. Perhaps one could argue that there is a direct relation between fairness and the probability of the occurrence of beauty (read: pulchritude). In other words, the fairer a person, the greater the probability that beauty may occur in their lineage.
This also implies that beauty is not exclusive to races of humans for which fairness is not common place. The very existence of beautiful bi-racial phenotypes suggests that the symmetrical qualities of beauty are not inextricably linked to fair skinned people. They do occur in darker skinned people as well – it’s just that the probability of such an occurrence is rare.
That’s the most objective description of the relativity between “race” and beauty that I’ve heard of. As far as I can tell, everything else appears to be little more than white, christian, right-wing, racist propaganda.

Wow – I don’t even know what to say. That’s pretty rough. It breaks my heart to think that a man would cheat in a marriage. I cannot imagine the pain you must be going through. But to directly answer your question:
No, I don’t think he’ll ever be truly faithful to you. Period. As for being faithful to black women? Well, we might be thinking too narrow here. I wouldn’t single out black women. Even if he got married to a white woman, I don’t think he’d be faithful to her either. I mean, he married you over a white girl, didn’t he?
You mustn’t think about his infidelity in terms of black or white. He cheated. End of story. That’s not a relationship worth continued investment. It doesn’t matter that he cheated with white women.
However, if you’re put off by a black man craving a white woman, the first warning sign you should’ve noticed is his predominantly white female friends. Either way, I don’t think there’s any life left in that marriage. For the sake of your health (his infidelity increases the risk of transmitting STDs), I wouldn’t encourage you to stay in that marriage.

My take on the whole interracial dating/marrying thing is this:
My views are a reflection of many conversations with each racial group – men and women and their own feelings and opinions on the issues.
White men who want to get with a black women is usually out of either sheer curiosity or as a deliberate defiance of a societal taboo – a taboo within both racial groups, of note).
Black men who want to get with a white woman is usually because she’s considered (especially if she’s hot) as a trophy/prize/notch on their belt. But I disagree with the assertion that black men ALWAYS go for a heavy set white woman. I have seen plenty of black men (usually the very good looking ones who are also very successful) with very hot, head turning, model-looking white women.
White women who want to get with a black man is usually because she’s either trying to piss off daddy, impress her friends, or is rebelling against “society”. There is also the “penis size” myth factor, as well (although a larger percent of black men fall into the 9 inches or more category than white men, but the average overall is approximately the same.
Black women who want to get with a white man have, first off, broken away from an upbringing that preached against ever dating a white man. Wink, wink, nod, nod for black men, but not for black woman.
Lastly, a personal observation: Where I live (one of the 10 largest cities in the U.S.) I see a lot more black man/white woman couples than any other – even more than white men with asian women.

How true, I see the same thing. I know it is said that marriages indicates that there is relatively little mating between white females and black males but my own observations, like yours, indicates that there is a great deal of social ( and I am sure sexual activity between the two). When our social indicators tell us one thing and our eyes something else what are you to believe?
I think the answer to that is simple. I have made this observation in a number of cities in different parts of the country. Many young and attractive white girls with young black men, everywhere. Far more then the number of white men with Asian girls although there is often a good many attractive Asian girls on the street; usually from China and Korea I think. Far more white women with black men then black men with black women when you look at the young. Although I have not visited any college campuses I am told that it is very common to see young white girls in great numbers with black boy friends and there is usually a far greater number of black females on a campus then black males.
Of course this is all not new. But it seems to be a growing sight; it’s more common now then it was ten years ago and I would guess that it will be more common in ten years on. The same is true in seeing white woman with children obviously fathered by a black man. As housing, education and employment becomes less segregated one would think that this trend in racial mixing would grow.
Is it possible that we are seeing what is a growing cross racial sexual attraction? That a good number white female are sexually attracted to black men and vice versa. They say opposites attract and here we do have that. It has long been said that the black man was very interested in the white woman but did those who told us that tale leave off the rest of the story; that white woman lifted of any social restrictions feels the same way towards the black man? Demographics as far as I know offers no answer except the marriage data; perhaps those that study sociobiology can provide some insight. But, I would take what I see as the best indicator of what is happening.

I am an African American female in the US. I grew up in a largely caucasian community, where many times I was the “token” black. I have heard the comment, from white males (in h.s. of course) “I would love to date a black girl, but my parents would kill me”. I have myself dated both african american, and caucasian guys. My best friend is married to a white male. They were certainly meant for each other, and when they met, neither was looking for the “opposite race” they met, they liked one another, and the rest is history. It was that simple.
I really enjoyed reading the article, and I also enjoyed reading the other comments. I personally like men. Color is not the determining factor for me. However, it sounds like I need to move the the UK or the Carribean. LOL

Bardwell, a justice of the peace for Tangipahoa Parish’s 8th Ward, refused to issue a marriage license to Beth Humphrey, 30, and her boyfriend, Terence McKay, 32, both of Hammond.
Bardwell’s actions have elicited reactions from some top officials, including Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who called for Bardwell’s dismissal.
“This is a clear violation of constitutional rights and federal and state law. … disciplinary action should be taken immediately — including the revoking of his license,” the Republican governor said Friday.

First off why is so easy for white people to believe that every other race of men perfer their own women but yet so hard to believe it when it comes to black men? why cant you all get it through your thick ass skulls that yes even black men on average PERFER their own women? when hispanic say they perfer hispanic women there is no issue but when a black man says they perfer black women it must not be because he actually perfers bw its because he “cant” date out not simply because he’d rather date and marry his own smh. Xenlogic, i have to disagree with you on the skin complexion thing. From my own experiences, and like I said I live in a city over 80% black, I dont think that applies to MOST bm. Yes the whole lightskin bs has some truth to it but I find it hard to believe that MOST bm perfer lightskin women. 1) Most of my friends are bm, majority of the time they make no difference in if a female is light,brown or dark. In fact I have a very darkskin friend I grew up with who dates darkskin women more than anything. Besides that from my observation, most lightskin men tend to go for darker women 2) continuing from num 1 I myself am a med brownskin black woman, who initially had a PREFERENCE for darkskin black men. I am still lighter than the avg darkskin bm so by that theory i should only be dating darkskin men? wrong. with the exception of 1, majority of my boyfriends and any dude I have ever dated has always been lightskin. So speakeasy that kills ur little theory about them wanting someone lighter smh. It depends on the individual. I know bm of all complexions who either dont care about complexion or make a big deal about it or have their preference and its not always for lightskin women. 3) If that theory is true why is that most of time when a white man marries or dates a bw she is almost always darkskin? even with celebs
One more thing I want to add, Ive noticed that the white people who talk the most about what WE think, act,want or behave usually are the ones who havent spent more than 5 minutes around a black person in their everyday life. Instead of doing some research, speakeasy, they base their thoughts on stupid stereotypes. And just to let you know speakeasy its not that athletes and other black male celebs actually marry non bw its that the media pushes the IR relationships more. I wish I still knew the site with the article with the list of black athletes who are married to bw, of all complexion and features btw. They even used the example of how both Kobe and Shaq got married around the same time but the media pushed Kobe IR marriage to the forfront and never spoke on Shaq’s until his wife allegedly was stealing from him smh. White ppl always trying to throw up how many bm date IR in our faces but dont look at the fact that WHITE men date and marry IR more than any other men smh

I’ve yet to see a famous, wealthy black guy date a woman that looks like Alek Wek. Look at a guy like Seal, he’s from west Africa, certainly he could’ve had nearly any woman in Africa he wanted, but he choose to marry a blonde haired, blue eyed woman. Now sure maybe they just “happen” to have fallen in love, but when you see the same pattern over and over again with black celebrities, you start to think something more is at work.

Just to reiterate, I don’t claim that most black refuse black women or even dark skin women outright. I’m talking about preferences. Preferences do not necessarily mean prerequisites. What I say is that I believe that black men, when given choice will opt for women with less African features. To me that is beyond dispute. Even statistics bare that out. I had read a study that showed that light-skinned blacks are more likely to be married. So if the marriage rate for light-skinned blacks is higher, what does that tell you about their value in the mating marketplace? That light skin is preferred is beyond dispute to me. Now the only question left in my mind is why. Is it solely due to living in a Eurocentric world, or is there something biological at work? Or maybe both?

Could be. I am a Caucasian very happily married to a black woman. I have worked with a lot of black guys who are married to black women but love to date and have sex on the sly with white girls. I have been told that it is a status and a conquest “thing” as well as being attracted to the caucasian variations in eye color, skin coloration and hair texture and color of white girls. They also like their personalities in general and their being enamored with black men. (I.E. “once you go black – you never go back”) I have also overheard white girls saying this. I have been told by more than one white woman that they preferred having sex with black men because they were sexier.

That`s not true, that the race is just only something like the color of the horses or dogs. There are many of visible anthropological traits here, that are not changed if this person lives for example in Europe or in Africa. Nobody can deny, that the dogs, horses or cats have their races and that the differences between these races are not only in the color. All human races had the same performance in everything, if it would be true. But the Negros are the best in sports, the white people in the technical inventions, the Jews are outstanding actors. So we can see, that the differences, between the races is not in the color of the skin only.
It is difficult to restrain somebody, if he/she really wants to marry the wife/husband from some different race. But the most of interracial marriages is ended by the divorce sooner or later.
I think it`s better for each race to keep their special traits than to be mixed into some shapeless mush. Our world is much more interesting with more specific cultures than with one universal culture only.

Sorry Xen I do not buy that. Please elaborate for me in laymen’s terms because I think Blacks are just as diverse looking as Caucasians if not more. And when you say Caucasians include Asians are you including Southeast Asians (Filipinos and Thais etc) and Northeast Asian (Korean etc) ???? And the list you included many in common with a Black phenotye than White. (ex What about the Ati people of the Phillipines area Panay? or Khoisans in southern Africa who closely resemble Chinese? I have seen many Blacks with epicanthic eyes common to “Asians” more so than Whites. I have seen many Blacks with high cheekbones and hawklike noses common among Native Americans and Greeks, and where in the hell do the Aboringines in Australia fit in?????? And do not get me started on skin color variations of Blacks (of recent admixture and “pure” Blacks) Most “Whites” are pale, medium, or olive-skinned, some even brown-skinned but that is still not as diverse as Black folks colors in the U.S. alone.
Also I’m sick of that tired argument of Black women augmenting their appearance more than any other women. If you have more White women in the U.S. and the majority of them color their hair chemically and straighten it by blow drying then that alone exceeds Black women relaxing their hair. Has it occurred to you that Black women relax hair for diversity in styling options? I do not relax my hair, but I love my options of natural curls,braids or blow-dry it straight. I do not wear a weave but people assume since my hair is almost to my waist when blown straight I am trying to appear White or be accepted to a Eurocentric beauty standard. That is not true!

Another thing….. if I hear one more person raving about a White eye color variation like it is the best thing since a cold beer I am gonna puke. Brown eyes are the majority eye color on Earth people, and you do realize Black people have different eye colors too (not from contacts) I have 16 first cousins (we are a black family) and 9 of them have grey, blue, or green eyes. NONE OF THEM are “biracial” But who cares? Its just eye color, be glad you can see.

Yes ma’am. You do realise that etymologically speaking that the word “Asian” is contained in the word “Caucasian”, right? Anthropologists made that distinction to denote a sub-race of the Caucaisan phenotype.

So? You’re doing nothing more than validating a point I made in this post where I said:

Skin tone is not a diverse enough of a characteristic when you consider the insignificant number of genes that make up the marker which determines the amount of melanin that appears in the skin, as opposed to the genetic material involved in the markers that determine variations of eye colour, skull shape, hair type, etc.
That’d be like comparing two Zebras, where one has longer stripes than the other – as opposed to comparing a Zebra and a Horse.
That’s too bad. White women outnumber black women by a ratio of 13:1 in the USA – and yet of all the augmentations available for women in general, there appears to be a massive market for those that give black women features that very closely resemble those that only occur naturally in non-black women. I find that very curious – I’m not drawing any judgments. But I do find it curious… You are free to come to whatever conclusion you like.
Irrelevant. I’m not talking about blow drying or colouring hair. When a black woman wears weaves into her hair instead of utilising any one of the available styles that naturally and beautifully accentuates afro-centric hair, or puts coloured contacts into her eyes, or bleaches her skin, that my friend, says a lot more about self-perception to white folks, than the people who do it even realise.
I have nothing against black women adding variation to their appearance. But when it goes outside the domain of credibility, that’s where they lose me. A black woman can look really good without looking white. If I wanted a white woman, why would I settle for a black woman that only looks like one? It seems kind of backward to me. But different people like different things (and for different reasons).
So to each his own.
I like you already.
You should ignore those people. They’re just jealous of your hair.

Why is it such a big deal about interracial relationship’s, it happen’s all the time & shouldn’t blog about it, it’s a part of life, color is color, doesn’t matter if you’re blue, or pink whatever color you are we are still go to the same place’s heaven or hell. we all bleed the same color we all have brown,blonde,black or red hair unless u use some funk color. we just have skin difference’s. people take it too far now day’s.

@Xen, I finally got a chance to read some of your other posts…Thanks for responding so quickly. I think I understand better now when you discuss how “race” is scientifically irrelevant. I try very hard not to think in terms of Black and White and other all the time. But having grown up in a racially polarized part of the U.S. (yes these parts still exist in the U.S.), and then having to constantly deal with the “What color/race/are you?” questions all my life gets old. I get sick of the comments that you “must be mixed with something” because you do not have kinky hair. I just think that we (Black women) can be appreciated for our diversity just like any other (“White/red/yellow”) woman, but I really wish more folks would take time to get to know individuals instead of making judgements based on appearance.

What really surprises me Primavera is that the United States is supposed to be the most powerful nation on earth, yet of all the first world nations out there, it has some of the least advanced social constructs in terms of its people.
While I understand that military might has nothing to do with social development, it goes to show that the United States still sports some of the most archaic social idiosyncrasies, long deprecated in Europe.
I’m not saying that racism doesn’t exist in Europe (or anywhere else in the world for that matter). However, that it’s still such a big deal in the US of A is truly bothersome. I mean, it’s the 21st century, and there are still Americans going around using divisive cultural practices invented centuries ago when men had virtually no understanding of human biology.
It utterly fascinates me.

Yeah I get some what worked up when I meet up with a group of predominantly white people from the USA, here in Japan. The whole issue of black people this and black people that keeps coming up in their conversations, especially when I am around… I don’t know if when I’m not there, if that is still a part of their conversation…. I just don’t get it….
When Im around my white friends from England, this topic rarely if ever comes up any at all…
I was always arguing that Japanese are so backwards in terms of socialising with other races in a general sense, but many many in the USA ain’t better at all.
